New appearance on the TV market: A channel dedicated to Romanian films and plays is launched

The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) approved the launch of Cinemaraton Plus, a new channel dedicated to Romanian films, Pagina de Media writes on Tuesday.
The television station will broadcast more recent productions, short films, author documentaries and theater performances.
The new channel comes as an extension of the Cinemaraton brand, launched nine years ago, and aims to cover the area of modern Romanian films, while Cinemaraton remains focused on classic productions.
The channel broadcasts both SD and HD, with national and international coverage.
The television will be operated by the company Diplomatic Digital and will have 10% own production and 90% productions of other producers.
“Cinemaraton TV has been broadcasting for 9 years on the Romanian market and we felt the need to expand our film platform with this film channel, Cinemaraton Plus. It will also be a Romanian film channel and we would like to bring a Romanian theater component to the programs of this channel. We have created a production department that will produce several TV adaptations of Romanian classical plays. We have a component of interviews that we have carried out over time in the nine years of existence Cinemaraton, which we would like to broadcast on this platform, so that Cinemaraton remains an exclusive film channel”, said Adrian Bucă, representative of Diplomatic Digital, to CNA members about the plans for the Cinemaraton Plus project.
The license was unanimously approved by CNA members.
Diplomatic Digital, a company owned by the Clever Media group, operates three more licenses, Prima Comedy, Cinemaraton and Cinemaraton Moldova.
