“Putin can do anything.” This is how Russians celebrated the dictator's birthday. Congratulations as instructed and a thousand rubles for participating in the happening
Kremlin press spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Putin will spend his 73rd birthday at work, and his plans include: a meeting of the National Security Council and telephone conversations with leaders of other countries.
However, there weren't many of them. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called Putin. The politicians spoke for the first time after security forces in Yekaterinburg raided dozens of people of Azerbaijani origin in June 2025 in connection with a murder 20 years ago. As a result of the arrest, the brothers Huseyn and Ziyaddin Safarov died.
During the conversation, Aliyev wished Putin a happy birthday and discussed with him “the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.”
The Russian dictator also received traditional congratulations from the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, North Korea, Nicaragua, India, Turkey, as well as from the leaders of the self-proclaimed republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
“South Ossetia is extremely grateful to Putin for everything he has done to protect the people of South Ossetia from mortal danger, restore historical justice, and support post-war reconstruction and development of the republic,” said Alan Gagloyev.
“If there is Putin, there is Russia”
During the plenary session, State Duma deputies also took time to wish Putin a happy birthday.
-We're lucky. The Russian Federation is headed by a strong president. Today is Vladimir Vladimirovich's birthday. Let's wish him well! If there is Putin, there is Russia, said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
In his opinion, Russia has undergone “huge trials” and only with the election of Putin she found herself and rose from her knees.
— Today it is the largest economy in Europe, the fourth in the world, and the largest in terms of territory. All the challenges we face can only be overcome by a country led by a strong president supported by the people. We must be more united than ever around the head of state, he appealed.
Then all the deputies stood up and started applauding Putin.
The Telegram channel “You listened to Majak” reported that each MP received a framed photo of Putin with his quote as a gift.
Special instructions for officials
Service Agency discovered that officials received instructions on how to properly congratulate Putin. Choudura Erenede, coordinator of the United Russia Women's Movement and MP of this party from the Republic of Tuva, published on VKontakte the “Specification of the #CongratulationsFromDonbassToKamchatka” online campaign. She later deleted the post, but journalists managed to see it.
“The entry should reflect the essence of the campaign (and be accompanied by text, a thematic photo or a photo of the author). In the post you should: congratulate the President of the Russian Federation. As accompanying content, you can use photos of President Vladimir Putin. Tell about the latest achievements that have taken place in your region or throughout the country. Give examples of improvement in the field of economy, culture, sports, state construction” – written in the manual.

Journalists looked through posts marked with this hashtag and found congratulations from officials and politicians at various levels, including Senator Ruslan Smashnev, the head of the Guryevsky district of the Kaliningrad region, Alexei Kurilov, and Denis Pestunov, a member of the Public Chamber of the Smolensk region. Project Botnadzor explained that Kremlin bots also joined the campaign: have already published 111 posts on VKontakte with the hashtag “#CongratulationsFromDonbassToKamchatka”.
An action took place in Moscow under the same slogan. It was organized by the Young Guard, and participants lined up in front of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, creating the inscription “Congratulations from Donbas to Kamchatka”. As reported by the “Groza” channel, students were to receive one thousand rubles (approx. PLN 450) and diplomas for participating in the action.
This year, propagandists did not come up with anything new and congratulated Putin according to the standard script. Vladimir Solovyov wrote on his Telegram channel that Putin changed the course of history “when it seemed that the country would cease to exist, that it was not a question of whether it would fall apart, but when.”
“The fact that Russia not only did not fall apart, but also expanded its territories during Putin's rule already explains everything. (…) Putin united the country, enlarged it. He returned the country to the people. He returned our homeland to us,” the journalist said.
Oligarch Konstantin Malofeev wrote that “with Putin we will win the current war” – “the most important thing is that he is healthy and rules us as long as possible.” According to Malofeev, in the future Putin's rule will be remembered as a “golden age”. Personal congratulations to the politician from the parish also appeared on the social media of Orthodox churches.
“Putin can do anything”
Every year, Putin also receives congratulations in kindergartens and schools throughout Russia. An information and patriotic hour “Our President” was held in schools. As part of it, students were told about Putin's biography, key stages of his life and activities. According to the idea, the event was to help teenagers “learn about Putin's role in the history and contemporary development of the country, as well as understand the importance of civic attitude and patriotism.”
In a kindergarten in Tyumen, teachers talked “about a great and strong country, and about the man who leads it – Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.”
Then, the kindergarten students “learned about the role of the head of state, learned about the symbols of Russia and learned what it means to be the leader of a great country.”

“The children also learned that the president's birthday is today, so it is no coincidence that the classes ended with the children making greeting cards with the symbols of our country. For the children, the president is a person who cares about Russia and, therefore, their future, and for us it is a lesson in respect for our country and its leader. May every child in our country grow up under a peaceful sky and be happy,” we read in the post.
In a kindergarten in Omsk, children sang the song “Dad can do everything.” The word “dad” was replaced by the word “Putin”which was noticed by the “Attention, News” channel.
“Putin can, Putin can do everything. What Putin cannot do, cannot happen. He is the most important person in the country,” the children sang. The film was shot against the background of Putin's photos and quotes, as well as the letter Z.
Actions were also carried out in schools in the occupied territories. For example, in Makeevka, Donetsk Oblast, a sports competition was held in Putin's honor, and a wrestling training session was held at Junior High School No. 6 in Donetsk.
