According to Pistorius, military experts and intelligence services are able to estimate when Russia's armed forces will be ready to launch an attack on a NATO member country in the east.
“We have always said this could be the case from 2029. But now there are others who say it is possible as early as 2028.” – Boris Pistorius emphasized in an interview with “FAZ”. He added that some even believe that we have had the “last summer of peace” behind us. Dmitry Peskov commented on the minister's words.
“Russia does not support any form of confrontation with NATO, but we are forced to take action to ensure our security and our legitimate interests,” Peskov said during the briefing, quoted by TASS news agency. According to him, Pistorius's words, as well as other statements warning against a Russian attack, are the result of NATO countries exaggerating their pro-war rhetoric.
