The interim president of the PSD claims that the idea that Victor Ponta would run on the PSD Dâmbovița lists seemed a good idea at the time, given that at that time a candidate for the presidential elections was Marcel Ciolacu and it was necessary for everyone to draw for this candidacy, writes News.ro.

“Things have been, to know, a little different. There are witnesses and colleagues of my Ministry of Transport, witness is also the Romanian Gendarmerie, that you know that every ministry is a lower gendarmerie, at the gate. During the period of lists and parliament, I was very visited by Victor Ponta.

This candidacy did not come as surprise on the PSD lists and yes, the reasons were simple, the presidential elections were coming, it was considered that everyone to shoot at these elections. That was the reason for which Victor Ponta was applying for PSD again. (…) It seemed to me that the idea is ok to bring … precisely from the perspective of these presidential elections, Candida Marcel Ciolacu, the president of the party, the reasons were why we have him to scream and so, better to apply inside”, Explained Grindeanu in the program Insider Political.

Sorin Grindeanu claims that the decision now is no longer a good one and a description as a mistake: “Looking now, yes. Mistakes are made in politics ”.

At the same time, the PSD president is of the opinion that Crin Antonescu's chances of winning the presidential elections would have been much higher if Victor Ponta had not been a candidate.

“On the calculations so, dry, mathematical, it seems, because otherwise, that difference I think for about eighty thousand votes, a million three hundred thousand from which Victor Ponta took, I think most of these votes came from an area that would have gone, if there was no Victor Ponta, to Crin Antonescu.“, Said Grindeanu, according to News.ro.

Sorin Grindeanu punctuated the fact that Marcel Ciolacu no longer wants a position in the party and that “It is old PSD-ist, it does not leave as others have done. “

Asked if he will give a position to Marcel Ciolacu if the PSD president will arrive following the party elections, Grindeanu pointed out that “He does not want at this moment, I tell you for sure. ”

Ponta: “PSD is the only party in the world who has no former leader in the party”

On May 27, former prime minister Victor Ponta said that the PSD is the only party in the world, not in Romania, who has no former leader in the party, except Iliescu. “Nastase, Geoana, Ponta, Dragnea, Dăncilă, we are all kicked out“He said.

“I addressed an absolutely honest message from the heart, after the elections, to the PSD members. I said, sir, let's get together. After he gave us Dragnea all, after that you see, the PSD is the only party in the world, not in Romania who has no former leader in the party. We are out.“, Said Victor Ponta, on B1 TV.
