The head of Karelia complained to the Investigative Committee about a local actress because of a joke about the Karelian language
Arthur Parfenchikov was outraged by the performance of actress Valeria Lomakina at a comedy show: she called the Karelian language “creepy” and added that in her theater Karelians listen to translations of performances into Russian.
The governor wrote on his social networks that the actress from Petrozavodsk allowed herself “offensive jokes depicting Karelian speech.” The head of the republic said that he was preparing an appeal to the Investigative Committee with a request to check the actress for composition crimes under Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
