17 November 12:26

In Krasnoyarsk, 909 applications for catching stray animals were received over 3 weeks, the mayor’s office reported.

Visits and inspections have already been carried out on 899 of them. 50 animals were captured during this period. They were sent to holding centers for veterinary examination to make decisions about lifelong housing or sterilization.

The mayor's office recalled that the number of complaints about stray animals in the city has increased sharply since November 27 after the tragedy in the Berezovsky district. Acting city head Roman Odintsov instructed to strengthen control over the work of contractors and conduct raids on places where animals were spotted. Trapping services continue to operate around the clock. They are required to catch animals that have not previously undergone sterilization (without ear tags), as well as dogs with tags that show unmotivated aggression.

Preventive raids are also carried out in the regions to identify illegally placed dog kennels and places where dogs are fed. Such places contribute to the appearance of flocks and aggression on the part of animals. They begin to defend the territory where they regularly find food, considering it theirs. You can report such places and file a complaint about stray dogs through the 005 service by phone 223-85-05.
