Genoa had a disastrous start to the season in Serie A
Genoa had a disastrous start to the season in Serie A and were the “red lantern” of the championship two rounds ago when Dan Șucu decided to sack Patrick Vieira.
Since the departure of the former world and European champion, Genoa have recorded a 2-1 win away to Sassuolo and a 2-2 draw at home to Fiorentina, who meanwhile have reached bottom of Serie A.
Dan Țucu decided to appoint Daniele De Rossi, world champion with the Italian national team in 2006, as coach.
The former Italian international had only two adventures as a coach, at Spal, and at AS Roma, a club for which he played as a player for 16 seasons.
