A meeting of defense ministers of the Group of Five (GoF) countries is taking place in Berlin on Friday, devoted to defense in Europe and support for Ukraine. Poland is represented there by Deputy Minister of National Defense Paweł Zalewski.
As announced by the hosts, representatives of: Poland, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italyas well as the EU's foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal is to join the second part of the discussion remotely.

The GoF format was initiated a year ago by German Defense Minister Boris Pistoriuswhen Olaf Scholz was chancellor.
During this time, several meetings in this format were organized, including: in January in Warsaw. At the last meeting held in London in September, the GoF countries condemned the violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones on September 10.
– The meeting participants will exchange views on actions to strengthen security in Europe, as well as on the situation in Ukraine – said the German Ministry of Defense in a statement issued before the talks.
The GoF format was created to improve coordination in defense and security matters between its participants and to discuss cooperation in the field of arms and interoperability. (PAP)
