At U-19, Romania lost to Andorra. Next is the duel with Finland

The Romanian national team defeated the Andorran team with a score of 4-1 (0-0) on Wednesday, in Voluntari, in its first match in Group 7 of the 2026 European Under-19 Football Championship preliminaries.

After an unexpected 0-0 at halftime, the team coached by Adrian Dulcea scored twice in the second half, through Mihai Toma (47), from FCSB, Troy Tomșa (58, 62), who plays at Sassuolo, and Ștefan Senciuc (83), a player on loan from CFR Cluj to ASA Târgu Mureș.
Cesar Gonzalez Garcia (69) scored for the Iberians.
Romania evolved in the formula: Bogdan Ungureanu – Florin Gașpăr, Andrei Racu, Rareș Fotin, Alin Techereș (Ștefan Senciuc, 74) – Troy Tomșa (Raul Vereș, 65), Efraim Bodo, Yanis Pîrvu (captain) – Andrei Toroc (Robert Necșulescu, 46), Alexandru Stoian (Raul Stanciu, 84), Mihai Toma (Robert Petculescu, 65).
In the other group match, Finland beat Iceland 3-2 at Buftea.
On Saturday, November 15, the games Romania – Finland (Anghel Iordănescu Stadium – Voluntari, 16:00) and Iceland – Andorra (FRF Football Center – Buftea, 11:00) will take place.
The first two places qualify for the elite round, which will take place in the spring of 2026.
The 2026 European U19 Championship will be held from 28 June to 11 July in Wales, in the cities of Wrexham, Bangor and Colwyn Bay. In addition to the host team, the seven group winners from the elite round will also qualify for this tournament.
At this year's European Under-19, hosted by our country, the Romanian team reached the semifinals.
