According to the publication Bild, the identification was confirmed by a DNA analysis.

Ralf K. was 42 at the time of his disappearance, and investigators now say everything points to suicide, with no signs of a violent death.

The case came to light after a property manager opened a garage belonging to a vacant property that had not been accessed since 2017.

Inside, the police discovered the man's company car, which contained his remains.

Ralf K. was reported missing in February 2017 after he left in a company car and never returned. All this time, his family and colleagues lived with the hope that he would be found alive.

Ralf K. was known and respected in the hospitality industry for his work as the beverage distributor of the famous König Pilsener (KöPi) brewery, a company with a long history, founded in 1858 in the Beeck district of Duisburg.

Over the years, the König brewery went through several changes of ownership: in 2000 it became a subsidiary of the Holsten group, then it was taken over by Carlsberg in 2004, and later sold to Bitburger.

After eight years of mystery and uncertainty, Ralf K.'s family finally has an answer, albeit a painful one.

German police closed the case, concluding that the manager ended his days in his own vehicle nearly a decade ago.
