Dominic Fritz, the president of USR and the mayor of Timișoara, announced on Tuesday that, this week, he has scheduled the interview for the acquisition of Romanian citizenship, but he claims that he did not reveal to his mother the day on which this test will take place.

He added that he has no emotions about the interview.

“Even my mother doesn't know what day. I'm not telling you, so that everyone doesn't call me immediately after the interview (…). I have no emotions, but it's better to go there with a little less pressure (…). As far as I know, it's an interview. It's not a written exam, but an oral interview with questions. There is a list of 400 questions, it can also be found on the Internet. Very few people knew about these questions. I hope I can answer at least some of them,” said Dominic Fritz, at Digi24.

The USR leader stated that the questions from the interview are “also about history, who was Decebal, who was Burebista, they are also about geography, called, I don't know, a river in Muntenia, which is the highest peak in Romania, up to personalities, culture, Constitution”.

“I think that in the Constitution chapter I will be the best”, added the mayor of Timișoara.

The mayor said that he hopes to pass the test “and after that to move the files with a rail”.

“I think it's a fair test (correct, no), I mean I'm not complaining. Some people understood that I'm complaining about the questions. I think it's fair that those who want to become Romanians should prove that they love this country, that they understand this country. Yes, I would like, maybe, to have a wider discussion in society about how more of us, both naturalized Romanians and Romanians born, can better understand the history and culture of this country,” Dominic Fritz said.
