A group of seven Democratic senators and one independent senator [stowarzyszonego z Demokratami] agreed to a compromise with Republicans on Sunday.

The compromise reached assumes the extension of government financing until the end of January, the reversal of mass layoffs of federal employees that occurred after October 1, and a guarantee of payment of salaries to employees who did not receive them due to the shutdown.
The compromise also includes a promise to hold a vote on restoring health insurance subsidies, but does not guarantee that such subsidies will be provided, which is what Democrats fought for primarily.
Monday is the 41st day of the shutdown, which is the longest in U.S. history. The shutdown has put food stamps in jeopardy for millions of Americans, federal workers are working without pay or furloughed, thousands of flights have been canceled since Friday and passengers are facing delays.
