The Ukrainian air forces said on Thursday morning that a Russian military plane launched guided bombs on the Sumî region for the third time during a fire cease promoted by Kremlin, Reuters reports.

There was no information on damage and victims. Reuters said he could not independently check Kiev's statements.

“The cessation of fire (…) On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the great victory,” the official Russian press agency said, writes Agerpres.

Ukraine did not accept this armistice, instead demanding a 30 -day fire.

A few hours before Putin's order came into effect, Moscow and Kiev launched a series of air attacks, causing airports in Russia and the death of at least two people in Ukraine.

The Kremlin said that the Russian forces will respect President Putin's order to cease fire, but that they will respond “immediately” if Ukraine will launch attacks.

The unilateral cessation of fire will be in force for 72 hours and was decided by President Putin for the ceremonies occasioned by the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Red Army against Nazi Germany in World War II, the ceremonies in which leaders from about 30 countries will participate in Moscow.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov has condemned drone attacks in the last days by the Ukrainian army on several Russian regions, including Moscow. “The Kiev regime continues to demonstrate its essence, its inclination towards terrorist actions,” Peskov said.

In addition to rejecting the armistice, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said that Ukraine does not guarantee the safety of foreign officials who will be in Moscow on May 9.
