The Cabinet of Ministers terminated the powers of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom ahead of schedule. Sviridenko ordered an urgent audit

The Cabinet of Ministers made this decision against the backdrop of a corruption scandal surrounding the company. In the evening, Timofey Milovanov, a freelance adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, announced his resignation from the supervisory board of Energoatom.

“Today we made the first decisions to restart NNEGC Energoatom. The government prematurely terminated the powers of the company’s Supervisory Board,” Sviridenko wrote on the social network.

She recalled that corporate reform began in Ukraine in 2023.

“The composition of this supervisory body was chosen through a competition. All the leverage from appointing management to monitoring the company’s activities lies with the supervisory board. It is important that the government did not interfere in its activities. The supervisory board must be responsible for the situation in the company,” the prime minister emphasized.

According to Sviridenko, the Ministry of Economy, in consultation with international partners, must submit a new composition of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom for approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within a week.

“The task of the new composition is to quickly restart management, conduct a full audit of the company and provide all possible assistance to law enforcement agencies in investigating facts of possible corruption,” the prime minister noted.

Sviridenko added that she instructed the State Audit Service to conduct an urgent audit of Energoatom, including on procurement.

“We expect the results of the audit as soon as possible. We will transfer the materials to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies,” summed up the head of the Ukrainian government.
