The head of the Central Commission of Referees (CCA), Kyros Vassaras, claims, in an analysis published on the official website of the FRF, that the Dinamo team incorrectly received the penalty from which they opened the scoring in the match with FK Csikszereda Miercurea Ciuc (4-0), from the 16th stage of the football Superleague.
The official believes that VAR should not have intervened at the stage when Harghita's player Erwin Bloj lightly hit Alexandru Musi (Dinamo) in the box in the 14th minute, writes Agerpres.
“CCA would like to clarify the incorrect VAR intervention that led to the wrong award of a penalty (no – for Dinamo, 19th minute). There is no clear and obvious error for VAR to intervene in this case (no – Erwin Bloj's intervention on Alexandru Musi in the box). Although there is minimal contact on the ice, it is not enough to cause the forward to fall (no – Musi) nor is it capable of stopping the opponent from attacking or play the ball. Not every contact is sanctioned in football. There is no other contact on any part of the body, as the dynamo player tried to simulate. After such a reaction, the referees are instructed to give a yellow card for simulation,” said Vassaras.
The president of the CCA also explained the reason why VAR could not be used to mark the offside lines in the Unirea Slobozia – CFR Cluj match (score 0-1). According to him, “the current infrastructure of the stadium in Clinceni does not always allow accurate intervention for offside situations due to technical limitations caused by the positioning and angle of the cameras. Until the cameras are repositioned or raised, the accurate drawing of the offside line will continue to be impossible in similar situations”.
