Hołownia calls for urgent reconstruction of the government

Sejm Marshal Szymon Hołownia stated on Wednesday that the reconstruction of the government should be carried out as soon as possible, and not – so far it was planned – only in July. As he noted, the coalition must commit to implementing the reform package in an urgent mode.
In the announcement published on the X platform, Hołownia announced that at the Thursday meeting of the leaders of the ruling coalition, he would say that he sees no reason to further delay changes in the government. “Reconstruction should take place now, not in July” – he wrote.
He also emphasized that it is necessary to determine a bright list of reforms to implement as soon as possible. He indicated the five most important changes, which in his opinion are crucial for citizens: “The Act on the repellation of TVP, the Act on the personal assistance of people with disabilities, the anti -quota act, immediate unlocking of money for cheap apartments and writing out of the list of loan subsidies, the act prohibiting smartphones in primary schools”.
Hołownia also called for the reduction of the size of the government, asking: “Why the minister for the flood from a year ago? Why in the ministry of 7 deputy ministers?”
Hołownia warns by PiS and the Confederation
In his opinion, the signing of a new coalition agreement should take place before the budget project is adopted. “Our plans must be covered in numbers,” he noted. He also warned: “Prime Minister (Przemysław) Czarnek with the minister (Sławomir) Mentzen will come to this conversation, or in two years.
On Wednesday, the PSL-TD club adopted a resolution in which he authorized the leader of PSL, deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to participate in work on a new coalition agreement and cooperation strategy.
The current coalition agreement between the Civic Coalition, 2050, PSL and the new left was concluded in November 2023. Talks are underway regarding her possible renegotiation.
