Gabi Balint, 62 years old, author of 14 goals for the first representative in 34 games, prefaced the “decisive” between Bosnia and Romania for Gazeta Sporturilor.
He is optimistic before the match against Bosnia and believes that the national team can achieve a positive result if the “tricolors” give everything on the field and respect the tactical plan set up by “Il Luce”. The former international says the hostile atmosphere in Zenica should not affect the Tricolors, given their experience, and stresses that group unity, not individualities, is essential. “I want to see a team that fights until exhaustion,” Balint pointed out.

Bosnia – Romania, in the penultimate round of the preliminaries for the 2026 World Championship, will be played on Saturday, in Zenica, from 21:45.
Gabi Balint: “Everything depends on how confident they will be on the field”
“I expect a positive result, that's clear. I hope the boys are able to get it. We need the win. To give everything and see that they try everything, that they fight until exhaustion, that they follow the tactical instructions. I am sure that nea Mircea will prepare the match well. Otherwise, let's hold their fists, what else can we do? We are with them, as always“said Balint, in dialogue with Gazeta Sporturilor.
“Regardless of what happens, we have to be with the national team. It will certainly be a hostile atmosphere there, but with the experience they all have, I don't think there is any problem of being scared of some spectators. They have already played in so many stadiums and in front of much larger audiences, so this is not a problem for them. It all depends on how confident they will be on the pitch, it's still a decisive match. Have faith and believe in victory.
I don't want to nominate any player who makes the difference; I want to see a team on the field and everyone make an important contribution. After that, surely someone will stand out, either through a goal, an assist, or an intervention by the goalkeeper, but everything must be put at the service of the team. That's what I want to see: a team. Then let's enjoy the victory“, he added.
