Soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic Vitaly Osipov and his wife Polina have been regularly traveling to Donbass for concerts since 2023. In an interview with gornovosti.ru, the artists spoke about their participation in the work of the “Everything for Victory” propaganda team, created with the support of the regional Ministry of Culture.
The idea of the trips came to Vitaly Osipov back in 2022, but the first delegation was able to go only in the summer of 2023. Before the trip, the artists underwent special training, including tactical medicine courses and rules of conduct during shelling.
“I clearly understood that I had to support both the fighters and civilians who found themselves at the epicenter of these difficult events. So that people know: they are not alone, they have a rear behind them that thinks and cares about everyone,” said Vitaly Osipov.
During the work of the propaganda team, Krasnoyarsk artists performed in military hospitals in Rostov-on-Don, Donetsk, Dokuchaevsk and Mariupol. The repertoire includes works from the golden fund of the Soviet stage – songs performed by Shulzhenko, Khil, Magomayev.
In 2024, the format of the performances changed due to the escalation of the situation. Now concerts are held indoors, and artists even perform in underground shelters. Despite the increased risks, Krasnoyarsk musicians continue regular trips, supporting both military and civilian residents of Donbass.
