Vaslui businessman Fănel Bogos was pre-arrested for 30 days on Thursday evening. Three other defendants in the corruption case in which he is being investigated – Mihail Aniței, Rareș Mihail Cristea and Laura Mirela Iusein – were placed under judicial control.

The meeting of the Vaslui Court, after which Bogos was arrested, lasted over five hours, according to Antena 3 CNN.
Bogos is being investigated in a DNA case targeting an influence-trafficking network made up of politicians, reservists and former service generals. The businessman had been detained, initially, for 24 hours, for buying influence and blackmail.
Fănel Bogoș, Mihail Aniței, Rareș Mihail Cristea and Laura Mirela Iusein are accused of acts of corruption.
“The judge of rights and liberties ordered the preventive arrest of Mr. Bogos. The other defendants were placed under judicial control and will be free to go tonight. It is an incorrect decision from my point of view, it is the opinion of the magistrate-judge. We take it as it is. The only way we have is to file an appeal, which we did”, said Bogos' lawyer, Daniel Atasiei, according to the quoted source.
“I understand the rights judge did not validate at least some of the allegations”
According to the businessman's lawyer ” the judge of rights I understand that he did not validate at least part of the charges – the one regarding blackmail. This is what I deduced from the oral judgment: that he appreciated that there were no elements to justify the retention of the crime of blackmail. Yes for the other two charges, the one related to the purchase of influence and the use of influence, please, by the political factor, the arrest, from what was said today, was a legally required hearing, which was conducted legally, and that was it.”
