In Tuva, police officers are establishing the circumstances of an accident in which 6 people died. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
Everything happened on the 840th kilometer of the R-257 Yenisei highway. According to preliminary data, the 55-year-old driver of a Toyota Wish, moving west towards the city of Shagonara, flew into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Voxy. Both drivers, two passengers aged 36 and 60, as well as another man, whose identity is currently being established, died at the scene of the incident.
Four more participants in the accident were taken to the hospital, one of them, a 17-year-old boy, died a few hours later.
The head of the Republic of Tyva, Vladislav Khovalyg, said that a combination of several factors led to the tragedy, including limited visibility during snowfall and violation of traffic rules by road users. It is known that the rear wheels of the Toyota Wish were equipped with summer tires that did not meet the requirements for winter use.
“This is an irreparable loss. May the strength and support of those around you help you get through this difficult time. We should not forget that a car is a dangerous piece of equipment and the road does not tolerate neglect. Snowy weather poses a risk to travelers. I urge residents of Tuva to be extremely careful on the roads,” Vladislav Khovalyg commented on the situation.
Let us remind you that earlier a massive accident involving four trucks on the R-255 Siberia highway in the Irkutsk region claimed the lives of three people.
