An employee of the club Chelsea pleaded guilty in court to defrauding the Premier League club of around €235,000. Claire Walsh, 39, was an assistant treasury manager and took advantage of her position to get the money.
According to the charge laid at Westminster Magistrates' Court, the acts took place between June 8, 2019 and October 23, 2023.

Admitting the charge of fraud by abuse of position, Walsh heard from Magistrate Kieran O'Donnell that the case would be sent to a higher court. “She pleaded guilty to the crime and it is beyond our sentencing powers.
She will have to be sent to a crown court for sentencing, where the appropriate powers exist,” explained the judge, according to abola.pt.
