It's official! Dan Țucu appointed the new coach from Genoa

Dan Șucu dismissed a world champion and appointed another world champion. Daniele De Rossi (42 years old) is the new coach of Genoa. The official announcement was made on the club's official channels.

Things were clear since Wednesday, and today came the official announcement. De Rossi, one of the symbols of AS Roma, is the one who takes the place of the legendary Patrick Vieira.

“Genoa announce that they have appointed Daniele De Rossi as the new first team coach. The new coach has already met with the players and will lead the training session scheduled for this afternoon at the Signorini Sports Center.

The presentation is scheduled for Friday at the Villa Rostan headquarters, starting at 2:00 p.m. Extending a warm welcome to Daniele De Rossi and his team, Genoa thanks Roberto Murgita and Domenico Criscito for another demonstration of dedication to our colors,” the Italian club announced.

Gotti, D'Aversa, Palladino and Vanoli are the other technicians with whom De Rossi competed for the Genoa bench.

The former great midfielder will collect almost one million euros for the 8 months of the contract. It aims to save from relegation, and the contract can be extended until 2027 if it is fulfilled.

De Rossi coached AS Roma for the last time, the team in whose jersey he wrote history. He was out of contract for more than a year. In the capital, he had a salary 3 times higher than what Dan Șucu is offering him now. He also coached in his short career at Spal and was on the staff of the Italian national team.

As a footballer, De Rossi played most of his career in Rome, for 17 years, before finally making the move to Boca Junios, from which he retired. He was captain for many years at AS Roma, a team for which he scored 616 matches, 63 goals and 60 decisive assists.

Among the trophies in De Rossi's record is the most coveted in the world. He won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.
