Donald Trump renominated Jared Isaacman to head NASA

“Tonight, I am pleased to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot and astronaut, to serve as Administrator of NASA. Jared's passion for space, experience as an astronaut, and commitment to expanding the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and developing a new space economy make him the ideal candidate to lead NASA into a bold new era,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

What did Isaacman do before he was nominated to head NASA?
Trump originally selected Isaacman to lead NASA late last year, before taking office, but withdrew his nomination in May amid mounting tensions with Elon Musk that soon escalated into a bitter dispute.
Elon Musk is back in favor. Donald Trump is talking to the billionaire again. “He had a bad moment, but I like him”
The head of SpaceX allegedly advised Trump to choose Isaacman, with whom he collaborated on space missions. In May, the president justified his decision to withdraw support by saying that the businessman did not represent the MAGA movement and that he had donated to Democratic election campaigns in the past. After the nomination was withdrawn, the reins of NASA were temporarily taken over by Transport Minister Sean Duffy, who, according to media reports, was trying to retain control of the space agency.

Isaacman is a 42-year-old businessman and pilot known for his passion for aviation (he also runs a company offering training for fighter pilots) and his relationship with Elon Musk. He most recently rose to prominence as commander of the Inspiration4 mission, the first all-civilian orbital flight, on which he flew aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft.
During the Senate hearings, the future head of NASA expressed his opposition to some of the planned cuts in the agency's budget, which are expected to amount to as much as 25%. They are intended to significantly change the plans of NASA's most important program, Artemis, which was to ensure the permanent presence of people on the Moon and take the first people to Mars.
