Two new holidays have appeared in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees establishing two new holidays – the Day of Indigenous Minorities and the Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of the Country. The relevant documents are published on the official legal information portal.

Indigenous Minorities Day will be celebrated April 30. The purpose of the new holiday is to preserve the traditional way of life, economic activity and original culture of the indigenous peoples of Russia.

The Day of Languages ​​of the Peoples of the Country is scheduled for September 8. As Putin previously noted at a meeting of the language policy council, this holiday is intended to help preserve and support the country's linguistic diversity.

Both decrees come into force from the moment of their official publication.
