The entrenched fighters were joined by additional forces of the Timur Special Unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region, the report says. Fierce fighting is taking place in the city.
“Combat work continues, aimed at eliminating the enemy’s attempts to expand fire impact on logistics in the GUR’s area of responsibility,” the intelligence agency stated, adding that the details of the operation have not yet been disclosed.
The day before, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that approximately 30% of all military operations at the front take place in Pokrovsk.
“You understand how difficult it is for us. There are from 260 to 300 Russians in Pokrovsk,” he pointed out.
