On the avenue named after the newspaper “Krasnoyarsk Worker” at the memorial “Krasnoyarsk – City of Labor Valor” at 12:00 a ceremonial parade of military units, combined detachments of law enforcement agencies and university cadets began.
The procession began with a creative performance. The event was opened by the winners of the regional festival of school museums and patriotic clubs. They carried copies of the red banners of military formations and units that were formed on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory during the Great Patriotic War.
Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov congratulated his fellow countrymen on the 81st anniversary of the Victory. He recalled that almost half a million people from the region went to the front, more than 230 residents of the region became heroes of the Soviet Union.
“Victory consisted of the exploits of soldiers and commanders, of labor achievements at factory machines, and of the skill of doctors. The Siberians showed heroism, endurance, and character in the most difficult areas,” noted the head of the region.
Kotyukov emphasized that today the work of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers is continued by the heroes of the special military operation. Krasnoyarsk factories are again working in three shifts, sending weapons to the front, volunteers and residents collecting humanitarian supplies.
