“First of all, I will ban electric scooters in Bucharest, it's the first thing I do when I get to the mayor's office,” declared Tuesday evening the AUR candidate in the race for the Capital City Hall, Anca Alexandrescu.

In the Marius Tucă Show, from Gândul, the moderator from Realitatea Plus stated that this ban “is very simple to do”.

“It's a decision for our children and for traffic safety. People have also died because of this. I'm not making decisions against USR, I'm making decisions for people,” she added.

Anca Alexandrescu's priorities for Bucharest

The modernization of road traffic, but also the construction of a new hospital in the Capital, are among her priorities, if she wins the position of general mayor, the AUR candidate also said.

“I would build a new, big hospital in Bucharest. There is a great need, all of them urgently, but all the hospitals in Bucharest are on the ground. There was this project and it was still not done. Nothing has been invested in recent years. It has been invested in the past, but in recent years absolutely nothing has been invested. A lot of people come from outside Bucharest. The Emergency Hospital is mandatory and I am sure that the Capital City Hall has a plot of land and together with the sector town halls can build a hospital of several hundred million euros. So this can be done”, she said.

Other statements made by Anca Alexandrescu regarding the plans for the Capital:

  • I don't want to hear kids in three shifts at school anymore. Of course, in Bucharest the biggest problems are related to traffic and hot water. There is smart traffic. Nicușor's American specialist (Dan, no) would have died, but there are other specialists as well.”
  • Have you ever seen a Capital in this world that has hypermarkets in the center? I will not take them out of the center in the first phase, if they want to collaborate with the local public administration. First of all, I will ask them to make the free parking spaces available to the citizens of Bucharest during the night.
  • The parking problem is huge in Bucharest. I hope that Mr. (Daniel) Băluță will not bring the taxes from Sector 4 to the level of Bucharest.
  • I will call those from the National Union of Architects to the table with all the real estate developers and together let's establish some very clear construction rules in all sectors of Bucharest.

The leadership of AUR decided on Monday evening, with unanimous votes, to support Anca Alexandrescu in the elections for the Capital City Hall. President George Simion said that AUR is making a sacrifice, but the decision is a gesture of responsibility towards the sovereignist electorate.

AUR President George Simion said that the party has given up supporting its own candidate in favor of the best-placed candidate from the sovereign zone. “We chose to make a sacrifice because we are fair people. We did polls and the only one in the public space who has shown her intention and has a real chance of winning is Anca Alexandrescu. It is the cause of the Romanians, not of the sovereignists,” said Simion.

Anca Alexandrescu stated that she will not join the AUR, so that she has the ability to bring to the same table all the parties represented in the General Council of the Capital.

She stated that she is an “independent candidate” supported by several parties, “led by AUR”.
