Ato Arad won decisively FCSBscore 3-0in a match from Group B of the Romanian Betano Cup, dominating the game authoritatively. Even with a player down from the 34th minute, after the elimination of Necșulescu, the hosts imposed their rhythm, while the champion looked completely helpless, using an experimental formula that did not cope with the intensity of the “Old Lady”.
FCSB, disorganized and unresponsive, seemed to have come more “on vacation” to Arad. The next important match for the champion will be the derby against Dinamo on Saturday, where they will try to recover their prestige.
At the end, Adrian Mihalcea (49 years old), the coach of the Arada players, welcomed his team's victory and emphasized the authority with which UTA controlled the game.
The first victory with FCSB, overshadowed by Matei's injury: “My first victory with FCSB, but the injury affects me”
Adrian Mihalcea, UT's technician, spoke about the first victory in his career as a technician against the FCSB champion:
“As a coach, this is my first win with FCSB, but it comes second because it was a Cup match. I won it, but, unfortunately, Matei's injury messed me up. He's a very good kid, and we want to get past the group and make this goal come true,” said Mihalcea.
The Romanian Cup, a clear objective for UTA:
“From the beginning we stated that we are interested in the competition. We also made our changes and so far they have worked for us. These are good times for the club. We also went through difficult times and I'm glad we recovered.
We have these three final games and we have to keep the same line. We will discuss the Cup next year, especially since the holiday break and the transfer period are coming, when we will try to strengthen our team to fight on two fronts.”
Mihalcea also spoke about the sportsmen's protest: “I understood their dissatisfaction”
Regarding the supporters' protest related to the price of the tickets, the coach of the Arad team declared: “I would have liked the atmosphere to be crowned by this victory. I understand their dissatisfaction, we respect them and I am convinced that, in the match with Petrolul, we and they will give everything we can to win.”
