Petrolul and Botoșani drew with the score 0-0, in the last match of the Superliga championship round. Leo Grozavu's team had 6 consecutive victories until this game.

Ploiești started the match in attack, and the first opportunity came in the 11th minute, when Guilherme restarted with his head, after a corner, but the ball was rejected by Petro. The Moldovans responded through Ongenda, but Krell twice blocked the shot sent by the former PSG player.

The same Krell also did a good job against Kovtaliuk. The scoreboard could have been unlocked just before the break, but Chică Roşa shot over from a good position. Ploiešteni were also more dangerous at the beginning of the second half.

Chica Roşa and Dongmo tried to score, but Anestis rejected each time. Botoșani had the chance to take all the points, but Mitrov missed a penalty in the 79th minute. Kovtaliuk had been fouled by Anestis in a phase that was analyzed by VAR for 3 minutes.

Claudiu Marcu and Sorin Costreie called Horia Mladinovici to the monitor, and the “central” awarded a penalty. He had initially given the away striker a yellow for simulation.

The hosts also had the opportunity to take all the points in the 87th minute, with Ricardinho's header. The ball went just wide.

It is the first match in which Botoșani gets into trouble, after a remarkable series of 6 victories in a row in the championship. The Moldovans remain leaders, with 32 points, tied with Rapid, but with a better goal difference. Petrol is on 12th, with 14 points.
