A foreign agent wanted to sell secret documentation for a Ukrainian plane, but received six years in prison – UCP

The case file states that the defendant entered Ukraine in 2022, where he engaged in espionage as an agent of a foreign intelligence service.

Later, he established contact with an engineer at one of the state-owned enterprises and offered $1 million for the transfer of technical documentation for one of the Ukrainian aircraft.

In 2024, the engineer gave the agent a flash drive with documents that were classified as “Secret”. They contained information constituting a state secret, the UCP noted.

The foreigner was found guilty of collecting technical documentation for one of the domestic aircraft for the purpose of transferring to representatives of a foreign organization (Part 1 of Article 114 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was sentenced to six years in prison.

Prosecutors did not specify which country the convict is a citizen of.
