Former minister Luminiţa Odobescu, appointed state adviser at the Chancellery of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan

Luminiţa Odobescu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, was appointed to the position of State Counselor within the Prime Minister's Chancellery. The decision, signed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, was published on Monday in the Official Gazette.
Since June, Luminiţa Odobescu was a presidential adviser in the team of President Nicusor Dan. Her mandate at Cotroceni ended on November 1, when she was released, upon request, from this capacity, writes the Agerpres agency.
Luminiţa Odobescu was Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government led by Marcel Ciolacu, being appointed in June 2023.
In January 2025, Luminiţa Odobescu was appointed state councilor in the Chancellery of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
In February, Ilie Bolojan, interim president of Romania at that time, appointed her to the position of presidential advisor for European affairs. She remained a councilor at the Cotroceni Palace during the first months of President Nicuşor Dan's mandate.
In the past, Luminiţa Odobescu was an ambassador and previously held the position of presidential advisor for European affairs. Odobescu was also the Permanent Representative of Romania to the European Union.
