The MAE announces that traffic on the Friendship Bridge will be suspended for all categories of vehicles on November 4 and 5

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) warns Romanians who are in, transiting or intend to travel to Bulgaria that, between November 4, 09:00 – November 5, 09:00, the Bulgarian authorities will temporarily suspend road traffic on the Ruse-Giurgiu Friendship Bridge for all categories of vehicles.

According to the MAE, on November 4, between 09:00 and 21:00, traffic is suspended for all categories of vehicles.
Between November 4, 21:00 – November 5, 09:00, traffic is suspended only for vehicles transporting goods, regardless of tonnage, those transporting people being allowed to cross the bridge (cars, minibuses, coaches).

Thus, the MAE recommends Romanian citizens who intend to cross the Giurgiu – Ruse Friendship Bridge to take into account the mentioned periods when road traffic will be stopped for crossing the bridge and to use the other border crossing points between Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria, as follows:
- Vidin – Calafat, Kardam – Negru Vodă, Silistra – Ostrov Calarasi, Dobromir – Krushari and Kainardzha – Lipniţa, Nikopol – Turnu Măgurele (ferry) (www.feribot-eurobac.ro),

- Oryahovo – Bechet (ferry) (www.ferryboat.bg)
