There was chaos in Cologne Central Station on Saturday, where more than 300 supporters of Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 got into a fight.
On Saturday morning, Borussia Dortmund fans were returning from Augsburg, where their favorites won 1-0 on Friday night, Guirassy goal.
In the Central Station in Koln, where the train from Augsburg to Dortmund had a station, the yellow-black supporters came across the rivals from Schalke. They were heading to Karlsruhe, where their team would lose, a few hours later, 1-2 in the 11th round of the Zweite Bundesliga.

When they spotted the rival fans, Schalke fans hit the emergency brake, exited the train and caused a general brawl involving 340 people, according to a police statement cited by Kicker.

To separate them, law enforcement used batons and pepper spray. They thus managed to separate the two groups and direct them back to their respective carriages.
No arrests have been made at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing. A policeman was injured in that clash.

In a joint statement by the police chiefs of Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen, Gregor Lange and Tim Frommeyer, they said:
“We recognize that the spiral of violence in and around stadiums in the top two leagues has worsened in recent months. It appears that so-called 'fans' are actively and repeatedly planning to brutally attack each other. This often happens outside stadiums, in neutral areas, where innocent bystanders are caught in the middle.
Police officers, who have a duty to prevent such crimes, are attacked and frequently injured. These excesses of violence directly affect the trust of the police towards the fans and there will be consequences.”
