CSM Slatina, the second surprise in four days in the Flower League! The “revelation” of the championship climbed to 4th place

CSM Slatina continues to live up to its “revelation” status of the Flower League and achieved another surprising victory on Saturday, January 10. At home, Oltense dominated the confrontation with HC Dunărea Brăila and won 32-29.
4 days after drawing a draw in the last seconds of the match against Rapid Bucharest, CSM Slatina played again at home, this time against Dunăria Brăila, a team that lost its head coach during the competitive break.

The hosts took advantage of the complicated background of the away team and had a dominant performance. The first 17 minutes were balanced, the score being equal (7-7), but then Andrei Popescu's students started to control the game.

In the last 10 minutes, Dunărea Brăila forced a comeback, but the hosts managed the situation very well and won 32-29, reaching a record of 6 wins, two draws and 4 defeats in the Flower League.
The best scorer of Slatina was Aleksandra Vukajlovic, with 9 goals. She was followed by Magda Balsam (6 goals) and Greta Kacsor (4 goals).
On the other side, Valeriia Kirdiasheva (5 goals), Elena Roșu (4 goals) and Dejana Milosavljevic (4 goals) stood out.
Thanks to this result, CSM Slatina has for the moment climbed to the 4th position in the championship ranking, being exceeded only by CSM Bucharest, Gloria Bistrița and CSM Corona Brașovi.e. of formations that represent Romania in the Champions League and in the EHF European League.
For CSM Slatina there is a break of more than two weeks, the next match being only on January 28, on the field of CSM Bucharest. Andrei Popescu's players will return to their home ground on February 7, for the confrontation with SCM Craiova.
