SuperLiga: Cristiano Bergodi, confident ahead of match with FCSB: “We can get closer to the area we want to be in”

Cristiano Bergodi, the coach of the Cluj University team, prefaced the match with FCSB from the 15th stage of the SuperLiga.

Since the appointment of Bergodi on the technical bench, U Cluj achieved two victories, 2-1 with Oțelul Galați (in the championship) and 2-1 with Metalul Buzău (in the Cup). The Italian wants his third consecutive success to come right in front of Romania's titular champion.

“I like that we are playing against FCSB, because we can see how the team is mentally, how they reacted after two wins. It doesn't matter that FCSB is going through a difficult period, there is no such thing in football, because at some point things can change radically.

When you have important players, of value, of quality, of personality, you don't have to worry. I think they are on the way back, they are not in such a bad period, because they won with UTA, they won in the Cup with Gloria Bistrita and they come here to win three points.

We have to play our game, play an important match from all points of view. When the team is called FCSB, it's normal that it gives you this motivation, this ambition to try to get the third win in a row.

I repeat, it's a very important match. I hope that many people will come to the stadium, because it is a game that can bring us closer to the area we want to reach. After the victory in Galați, we reduced a little of the disadvantage compared to the other teams fighting for the play-off, but the championship is long and even then this match is not decisive. The game between Cluj University and FCSB will take place on Saturday, from 20:30. The hosts are 9th with 17 points and the visitors are 10th with 16 points.
