Italy won for the second time in history the World Volleyball Championship, after imposing 3-2 (25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, 15-8) in front of Turkey, in the final played in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

In the small final, Brazil passed from Japan 3-2 (25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 27-29, 18-16) and obtained the bronze medals.
On Sunday, September 7, Italy and Turkey, two world volleyball forces, met in the women's final in Bangkok, Thailand, where the World Championship was held. The two nationals offered an extremely disputed match, which needed five sets.
