A criminal case has been opened for insulting the parents of a boy torn to pieces by dogs near Krasnoyarsk

On behalf of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, a criminal case was opened in the Krasnoyarsk Territory regarding the dissemination of offensive content on the Internet addressed to the parents of a 10-year-old boy who died from dog bites on October 25 in the Berezovsky district.

According to investigators, animal rights activists carried out a correspondence in a chat on one of the instant messengers in which they discussed the incident, using unflattering language towards the affected family.

“Currently, three residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory have been identified as participants in the chat. They were questioned about the circumstances of the incident. As part of the investigation, forensic examinations will be carried out, as well as an assessment of the actions of other persons who committed illegal actions,” the Investigative Committee said.

A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime provided for in paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (humiliation of human dignity, Withcommitted in public, with threat of violence). For this, the following types of punishment are threatened: a fine of up to 600 thousand rubles, or forced labor for a term of 2 to 5 years, or imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years.

The investigation of criminal cases in connection with the death of the child is also ongoing: against administration employees under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence resulting in death) and in relation to the head of the organization responsible for catching stray animals “My dog” according to paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).
