In Krasnoyarsk, a taxi driver stole 135 thousand rubles from a client

In Krasnoyarsk, a taxi driver will be tried for stealing 135 thousand rubles from a client’s bank cards.
The police said that in November last year, a 49-year-old woman with her husband and children called a taxi to return home from a cafe. In the car when leaving, she forgot her bag, which contained bank cards and a piece of paper with written down PIN codes. After some time, someone wrote off 135 thousand rubles from the cards. The taxi driver came under suspicion.
The police quickly found the suspect. He turned out to be a 36-year-old man. He admitted that he saw the bag in the car and took 700 rubles in cash and two bank cards from there. He threw away the rest of his things.
“The attacker withdrew 60 thousand rubles in cash from the cards at an ATM, and spent the rest of the money from the cards in various stores, including buying a mobile phone and a gold ring, which he gave to his friend,” the press service said.
A criminal case was initiated against the attacker under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. The sanction of this article provides for a maximum penalty of up to 6 years in prison.
Currently, the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
