Regulator “ROSTtech” reminded how to properly and safely prepare ash for disposal

31 October 18:07
Regional operator ROSTtech told how to properly prepare ash and slag waste for disposal.
Ash produced by burning wood or other organic materials is a combustible material. It contains not only carbon, but also other elements that can ignite under certain conditions.
If ash is placed in MSW containers, it creates a serious fire hazard. A small spark or simple heating of the surrounding ash waste can cause a fire that will quickly spread to the container, surrounding area and special equipment.
The regional operator requests that you follow the rules for storing and disposing of ash and slag waste:
- the ash must be cooled;
- collect in a strong bag or bag;
- leave it next to the MSW containers.
“Proper storage of ash is the key to the safety of both residents and our drivers. We have repeatedly encountered situations where containers and garbage trucks burned out due to improperly disposed ash, and people were endangered. Improper handling of such waste can have very serious consequences, so we urge all residents to carefully and responsibly follow the rules for storing and disposing of ash and slag waste,” the regional operator reports.
Garbage fire due to ash
Situations where garbage trucks and equipment burn out due to the fault of unscrupulous residents are, unfortunately, not uncommon. With the arrival of the first cold weather, garbage truck drivers are forced to check containers for the presence of ash. According to the regional operator, drivers should not waste time checking every container in the private sector, but this measure has already become necessary in order to keep the equipment in working order.
The regional operator urges you to comply with the rules for handling ash and slag waste. Designed for the convenience of residents leaflet with instructions for handling ash.
