A woman and child were blown off a suspension bridge between the village of Priiskovy and the village of Mikhailovka in the Trans-Baikal Territory. A squally wind rocked the bridge, causing people to lose their hold and fall into the water.
According to Mash, a local resident died, her minor son survived – he was saved by eyewitnesses. Now the boy is in the hospital under the supervision of doctors. His condition is assessed as average.
At the end of the summer of 2024, a criminal case was opened against the head of Priiskovovo, Yulia Fedorova, under the article “Exceeding official powers, resulting in grave consequences.” Soon after the work was completed, the bridge was damaged by the wind and needed repairs at a cost of almost 30 million rubles.
