The Hungarian giant enters Poland. Takes over retail parks for PLN 800 million


The retail parks that the Hungarian giant plans to buy for approximately EUR 195 million (approx. PLN 800 million) are located in “strategic” regions of Poland. It is not known in which specific towns they are located, but, as Artur Czuba from Avison Young, a company dealing in the sale of commercial real estate, said in an interview with “Puls Biznesu”, it may be eight galleries belonging to Auchan in Łomianki near Warsaw, Białystok, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Szczecin, Legnica, Sosnowiec and Wałbrzych.

Shopper Park Plus currently owns 22 retail properties in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. It plans to expand its business area, including: just for the Polish market. The tenants include: global brands such as: Tesco, Sportsdirect, Sinsay, Reserved, Koton and Deichmann.

The investment in Poland is already at an advanced stage. According to Property News, exclusivity to carry out the transaction has already been secured. Finalization may take place in December 2025 or early 2026. The total leasable area of the eight retail parks is approx. 210,000 sq m. sq m. The main grocery tenant occupies approx. 70%. this surface. This, according to Shopper Park Plus, will ensure a low level of revenue loss for the company. The main tenant is to remain in the current locations and sign a 15-year lease agreement, with the possibility of extending it three times for another five years.
