The entrepreneur Dragoş Anastasiu, former deputy prime minister, said on Thursday evening that the activity of Oana Gheorghiu will be under scrutiny, and her mistakes will be hunted down. However, he appreciates the appointment and declares himself happy that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan managed to convince her to take over the position, informs News.ro.
“Oana Gheorghiu and Carmen Uscatu are wonderful people. We need people to put our hopes in. And they are such people. I have no way of knowing how difficult it was for Oana to make the decision she made. But I know it will be very difficult for her in the position she is in,” former Deputy Prime Minister Dragoş Anastasiu wrote on Facebook on Thursday evening.
She added that the activity of the new deputy prime minister will be “under the spotlight, and her mistakes will be hunted by some politicians (and part of the media)”.

“Oana is a competition that scares them. Because it could inspire people as good as her to take the step towards politics. And I'm very glad that Ilie Bolojan managed to convince her. In our politics there were few moments of joy for me. This is one of them. Oana, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you succeed”, Anastasiu added.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent to the Presidential Administration the proposal to fill the vacant post of Deputy Prime Minister, in the person of Oanai Gheorghiu, co-founder and co-president of the Donate Life Association.

The post of deputy prime minister was initially occupied by Dragoş Anastasiu, who resigned in July, following a scandal related to the offering of bribes to ANAF officials. Later, the post was occupied, on an interim basis, by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
Oana Gheorghiu took the oath, on Thursday, for the post of deputy prime minister, in a ceremony that took place at the Cotroceni Palace. The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sorin Grindeanu, who challenged her appointment to this position, was absent from the event.
