Thomas Rose, US ambassador to Poland. He published a recording from Warsaw

Rose will officially assume his position after submitting his credentials to President Karol Nawrocki. Like most ambassadors nominated by President Donald Trump, he is not a career diplomat but a political appointee. However, unlike many other new ambassadors, Rose is not part of the former US president's inner circle.

In a short recording published on Wednesday, Rose can be seen laying flowers at the Warsaw Uprising Monument and then appearing on the square. Castle. “Good morning, hello! My name is Tom Rose and I stand here today in the heart of Warsaw as a representative of my great President Donald Trump and the American people” – he said, standing in front of the Sigismund Column.
Thomas Rose — who is the new US ambassador to Poland?
Thomas Rose was nominated as ambassador in February 2025. In September, his candidacy was approved by the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, but without the support of any senator of the Democratic Party. This was the second vote on this matter – the first one, held at the end of July, was repeated due to procedural oversights.

The new ambassador is a publicist and commentator for conservative media. In the past, he served as an advisor to Vice President Mike Pence, and in the years 1997–2005 he was the publisher and editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post daily. He comes from Indiana, where he previously worked in state administration. In the 1980s, he worked as a journalist on Japanese television and also wrote the book “Big Miracle” about the rescue of whales trapped under Arctic ice – which was adapted into a Hollywood film in 2012.
During a hearing before the Senate committee, Rose repeatedly praised Poland as an “exemplary ally” of the United States. He declared that he would strive to improve Polish-Israeli relations and emphasized that Poland “is sometimes wrongly blamed in Israel for complicity in the Holocaust.” He also assured that his diplomatic mission would not favor any of the political forces in Poland – neither the government nor the opposition.
Rose, who describes himself on social media as a “not-so-secret agent of the Judeo-Christian MAGA conspiracy,” is known as a strong advocate of Israel and a critic of liberalism. His unequivocally conservative views were one of the reasons he failed to gain bipartisan support in the Senate. His predecessors, Mark Brzezinski and Georgette Mosbacher, were approved by acclamation.
