Alexandra Gabriela Pițur, a 15-year-old teenager, suffers from severe scoliosis, a serious condition of the spine that endangers her health and quality of life.
Diagnosed with a 82 degree curvature of the lumbar spineAlexandra lives daily with severe pain and breathing difficulties. The severe spinal deformity puts pressure on the lungs and heart, and without corrective surgery, the disease can become irreversible, affecting her mobility and independence.
For her, every day is a struggle with pain and the limits that her body imposes.
“I feel like my back is getting more and more crooked and sometimes I can't take a deep breath anymore. I'm only 15 and I'm afraid that without surgery my body won't listen to me anymore. All I want is to be able to go to school without pain, breathe freely and live like a normal child”Alexandra confesses, with sincere emotion and a maturity beyond her years.
Over the years, the parents tried everything possible—physiotherapy, physical therapy, wearing a special brace for hours every day—but the scoliosis continued to worsen.
At present, the only medical solution is a complex vertebral correction surgerywhich is to be performed at Monza Hospital in Bucharest. The cost of this operation is 37,400 eurosan amount impossible for the family to cover.

“Alexandra is an extraordinarily brave child, but time is working against her. Severe scoliosis is not just an aesthetic problem, but a progressive condition that can seriously affect the lungs and heart. The intervention must be carried out as soon as possible to give him a chance at a normal life. We call on people and companies to join this campaign – every gesture can mean a pain-free breath and a step towards healing.” he stated Vlad Placintathe president of the “Save a Heart” Association.
Alexandra dreams of a life without fear, a straight back and a childhood that is not defined by suffering.
“When my friends run and laugh, I try not to cry. I hide my pain and hope that one day I will be able to do the same things. Maybe for some I'm just an unknown girl, but for me every person who helps me is a miracle”, says the young woman.
The humanitarian campaign is active on the site www.salveazaoinima.ro/alexandra-pitur, and all funds collected will be fully directed towards medical costs and the post-operative recovery process.
