“There should be no illusions.” Sibiga spoke about Russia's isolation in the international arena

“The international isolation of Russia is important as an element of pressure. […] The aggressor should have no illusions that it is possible to restore lost positions in the international arena. Russia must remain a rogue and toxic country. The Foreign Ministry is working to ensure this,” he wrote.

The Ukrainian diplomat noted that during 2025, “Russia tried with all its might to restore its lost positions in the international arena,” in particular in international organizations, but Kyiv systematically opposes this.

“We are building coalitions and alliances that block these attempts. Where necessary, we are conducting special “quiet” diplomatic work behind closed doors. We are preventing the aggressor’s attempts to regain lost international influence. It can be stated that Moscow is not managing to restore its lost positions,” Sibiga emphasized.

He listed international organizations where Russians were prevented from joining the governing and working bodies:

  • International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO);
  • Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO);
  • UN Committee against Torture;
  • Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues;
  • Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission;
  • Universal Postal Union (UPU);
  • Commission on Narcotic Substances.
