Vladimir Putin's image failure. The Kremlin had to cancel the summit

By Tuesday, only a few leaders — including Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara and the head of the Arab League Ahmad Abu al-Ghayt — had responded to the invitation to the summit hosted by Vladimir Putin.

“The most important players in the region, such as Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, the President of the United Arab Emirates Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahajjan and the President of Egypt Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi, have not confirmed their participation,” Bloomberg points out.

Due to low interest, the Kremlin decided to cancel the event in Moscow scheduled for October 15, the agency adds.

Vladimir Putin tried to postpone the summit. “My Own Decision”

On Thursday, the Kremlin announced that the event had been postponed. According to the official statement, some leaders of Arab countries could not go to Moscow due to their involvement in implementing the peace plan between Israel and Hamas.

Vladimir Putin himself declared that moving the summit was “his own decision.” “I did this because I don't want to interfere with a process that we hope has already started,” the leader said.

According to Bloomberg informants, Vladimir Putin was afraid of embarrassment. According to the agency, the leaders of Arab countries are more interested in building relations with US President Donald Trump after the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He is said to be embittered by the fact that Vladimir Putin does not want to end the war in Ukraine.
