“If President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to see Karol Nawrocki, nothing will stop him from taking the train and coming to Warsaw for the meeting,” Przydacz said.
The journalist asked whether Navrotsky should come to Kyiv first, “given Zelensky’s greater political experience.”
“There are no such rules in diplomacy. That is, this is a general rule, but not always,” replied the head of the Polish bureau.
Przydacz noted that Zelensky’s visit to Poland could happen “if we strive for good relations.” He recalled that the leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Denmark came to Warsaw after Nawrocki’s inauguration.
According to the Polish politician, the development of the Polish-Ukrainian dialogue “will depend on specifics,” including regarding history and economics.
Przydacz also confirmed that both Kyiv and Warsaw invited the president of the neighboring country to visit.
Context
On October 7, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasily Bodnar announced that Navrotsky intends to visit Ukraine and meet with Zelensky. According to him, the main topic of the meeting of the presidents will be security issues and the threat posed by the “common enemy” – the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
Bodnar said he hopes the meeting will take place “in the coming weeks.” Allegedly, the Polish side is already coordinating the schedule of its president.
Nawrocki became President of Poland on August 6.
