Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he does not need any green light to attack Israel's enemies, which is an “independent state”, reports AFP.
“Our security policy is in our hands,” Netanyahu assured during a cabinet meeting on Sunday. “We respond as we wish to attacks, as we have seen in Lebanon and, most recently, in Gaza,” the Israeli prime minister added.
The Israeli army announces that it has launched a “targeted” attack in the center of the Gaza Strip. Who was targeted?
Netanyahu made the remarks after a week in which he received visits from a number of senior US officials seeking to consolidate the Gaza ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10.
Netanyahu also emphasized that Israel would have veto power over the members of the force responsible for guaranteeing security in the Gaza Strip after the war, which the United States is trying to establish following the truce it brokered between Israel and Hamas.
“We have made it clear to the international forces that Israel will decide which forces are unacceptable to us,” said the Israeli prime minister, who opposes the deployment of troops from Turkey.
US soldiers will be deployed to Israel to coordinate the implementation of the Gaza deal. “To avoid chaos”
