Another term for Tusk? Announces “program for Poland's golden decade”

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that a Satellite Operations Center will be established in Poland “as soon as possible.” He added that the decision was made on Sunday after a conversation on one of the panels during the second day of the Civic Coalition convention.

At Saturday's convention in Warsaw, the Civic Platform, Nowoczesna and Inicjatywa Polska officially announced their merger into one party called the Civic Coalition. The national convention continues its program on Sunday, KO politicians and experts at the Copernicus Science Center (CNK) discuss the challenges under the slogan “Democracy of equal opportunities”, including: in the field of security, economic competitiveness and nuclear energy.
During the afternoon press conference, Prime Minister Tusk announced that Sunday's meeting at one of the panels had a “very practical dimension.”
– We are talking about the future, but not with our heads in the clouds, but by looking really bravely at the sky and even making decisions – he said. He added that at the meeting about the Polish presence in space and the opportunities related to it, they also discussed “one of the most important needs that can combine many elements of success (meeting participants – PAP) and what they have done so far and what is necessary from the point of view of the broadly understood security of Poland, i.e. the Satellite Operations Center.”
– We have brilliant people. Poland is becoming the leader of the region. We also have funds at our disposal to establish the Satellite Operations Center, which coordinates activities and is also a place that will be synergistic for all those who (…) can use our satellite capabilities, in Poland as soon as possible – said the Prime Minister.
He added that thanks to the presence of the Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański, the decision “did not require many hours of deliberations and yes, it was made today.” – A Satellite Operations Center will be established in Poland, he declared.
Domański: Energy transformation and technological revolution are key to Poland's development
Key areas które bthat will determine the competitiveness of the Polish economy is the energy transformation and technological revolution – said the Minister of Financeand the economy Andrzej DomaPolish. He also admitted that in both these areas Poland has a lot to catch up and achieve.
Tusk: before the 2027 elections, there will be a program for the next term, a golden decade awaits us
During the afternoon press conference, PAP asked the Prime Minister, in the context of the next elections, when the new Civic Coalition will present its program and whether Tusk will run for the leadership of the party.
The Prime Minister announced that “elections in the Civic Coalition will begin this year.” – Just like it was in the Civic Platform, in KO we elect the head of the party, as well as heads of other, lower levels – he said.
He added that “in direct elections, everyone has the right to vote.” – I will run and I will run. And apparently I even have a chance. You can never prejudge, but they say I have a chance, Tusk said.
In the context of the program, he said that new solutions would be proposed to Poland “in a very responsible manner.” – For now, I still have work to do – he added.
– Before the 2027 elections, we will have a program for the next term. And it will certainly be this program, I am convinced of it, which you will also call “the program for Poland's golden decade”, because we really have a golden decade ahead of us, he announced.
Prime Minister: I will not allow anyone to divide Poland from Europe
Prime Minister Donald Tusk was asked on Sunday at a press conference during the program part of the KO convention about the words of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński, who stated on Friday that “The Germans want to take the state from us. The French with them.”
– I certainly won't let anyone divide Poland from Europe. Our place is in Europe. Poland is our home, Europe is also home for Poland and for all nations united in the European Union, emphasized Donald Tusk.
The head of government emphasized that Poland “cooperates as closely as possible” with countries such as France and Germany because – as the Prime Minister emphasized – “this is also our security in the future.” And even more so because we can also take advantage of our friends. This is truly a partnership business, so I am very happy that I can say it so openly today – he added.
– I've been talking to the British a lot lately. Do you know how they regret this Brexit? This is rather irreversible for them, but they want to at least mitigate all the negative consequences. Let everyone draw the right conclusions from this lesson. I don't want to scare anyone, but I know, I listen to them; those from PiS, those from Confederation. Their first goal will be to take Poland out of the European Union and destroy the European Union. And the one who will benefit the most from this is, of course, Putin and Moscow, said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister on the PiS convention: a ceremonial political wake prepared for a lot of money
The Prime Minister was asked to evaluate the Law and Justice program convention taking place on Saturday and Sunday in Katowice. – I won't abuse Kaczyński, but I think you all see it. For quite a lot of money – we know where they got the money – he prepared his ceremonial political wake, he said.
– We clearly saw the spectacle of PiS and Kaczyński going down a slippery slope. They made several quite controversial demands and promises, and on the same day Mateusz Morawiecki was the first to say: you know, these are the fantasies of our experts. Even they are unable to take seriously what they have been talking about these two days, he said.
According to Tusk, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński and former prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki are competing with each other to see who will “be more sympathetic” to the leader of the Confederation, Sławomir Mentzen.
– A bad fall. He has been my political opponent for many, many years – I am talking about Kaczyński – but even I am sad to see how low he has fallen. And what's more, he financed the fall to be so spectacular – he said.
According to the Prime Minister, it is clear where the center of gravity has moved on the right. – This is a serious challenge for me. President Nawrocki will be the main political competitor in this vision of Poland, because he is more of a confederate than PiS – he said during his speech.
