A surgeon from Sinaia Hospital is accused of malpractice. He is the same one who, in 2018, forgot to remove the sterile dressings from the abdomen of a 10-year-old girl, whom he had operated on.

There are accusations of malpractice at the Sinaia Hospital, after a woman allegedly fell into a coma after a routine operation.

The 34-year-old woman needed a routine intervention, but after the operation she felt sick and the doctors decided to transfer the patient to the Fundeni hospital in Bucharest.

The woman's family says she is now in serious condition and is being kept alive by machines.

The doctor who operated on her is the same one who in 2018 forgot sterile dressings in the abdomen of a 10-year-old girl after appendicitis surgery. He was accused of malpractice, a criminal case was also opened, but in the meantime it was closed.

The City Hospital of Sinaia reacted and stated that the intervention and post-operative evolution of the patient until discharge from the unit “it was a favorable one, slow but without significant complications, until the 16th day when he was discharged improved, with recommendations and recheck planning”the Hospital announces, according to the Prahova Observatory.

The medical unit also noted that after two days the woman arrived at the Fundeni Hospital where other diagnoses were discovered. However, the hospital says it will launch an investigation.

The woman's family is considering opening a malpractice case against the doctor and taking all measures against him.
